I'm Katherine Locke, award-winning and critically-acclaimed writer of books for all ages.

I also have three cats and sometimes a foster cat. I post about them in my IG stories or on Threads, mostly, but they might make an appearance here.

I own a horse too. She's an off-the-track Thoroughbred (which means she did race, but she was very bad at it) named Rory. She's sometimes on Threads, but rarely on my IG because she has her own IG account at instagram.com/Q_the_Unicorn (named for my previous horse, Q, who passed in 2022.)

I live in Pennsylvania, where I've lived most of my life, and I enjoy watching the Philadelphia Eagles (Go Birds) and professional cycling (ask me about the Tour de France at your own peril).

I've been writing since I was a kid, but didn't start to take the possibility of publication seriously until 2007. The thought of wanting that promptly shut down my writing for more than five years. Fanfiction brought me back, and my first books published in 2015.

I'm Jewish, queer, and use they/them pronouns.

I think that more people should use turn signals when they drive.
