About this blog

Tiny Pawprints is my newsletter, and I'm trying desperately to find a better home for it, where people can comment and it's more like a blog that's also a newsletter? Remember when the internet had longform content? And it was good? I miss that, and I want to get back to it.

When you subscribe (or if you signed up before), you'll get all the posts here (I'm aiming for weekly on Fridays) emailed to you, but you can always come and read the archive too. I hope it becomes a home for you.

What will you find here?

I hope a little bit of everything. I want to talk about writing, about my thoughts on craft, share my personal journey to finding an author life that feels fulfilling artistically and also commercially, my journey back to being a reader (yes, really), and you'll probably hear some thoughts about life, current events, cats, and horses along the way.

A little bit of honesty

One time I was on a panel, and after the panel, I asked my brother, who happened to attend, what he thought. And he said, "Sometimes you're a little too honest." And I laughed, because it's true, and that shouldn't be a brand--but I've kind of made it mine. There will be a lot of honesty here. Sometimes too much.

Disclosures

I never use AI to ideate, draft, or write any of my posts or images. However, LLMs were built on a lot of my writing. I almost used the phrase "but honestly?" in the previous section right above this. And I didn't because I know someone will think it's AI. It's not. AI stole that from me.

I am currently serving on the board of Authors Against Book Bans. However, all of the writing and opinions shared on this newsletter-blog-site are my own and do not reflect the organization's thoughts, stances, or statements. Nothing written here should be taken to represent Authors Against Book Bans as an organization.

I'm experimenting on Ghost.

I did a lot of research before I decided to port over to Ghost. I'm enjoying it and always happy to share my thoughts. Feel free to reach out if you're thinking about using Ghost too.
